Our Adoption Process

We want every adoption to be a good match for both the cat and the adopter.

Here's what to expect.

  1. 01

    Meet Our Cats

Browse our available cats, read their profiles, and follow us on social media to meet new cats as they become available.

  2. 02

    Submit an Application

When you find a cat you're interested in, complete our online adoption application and tell us about your home, experience, current pets, and lifestyle.

  3. 03

    Meet the Cat

If we think your home could be a good fit, we'll contact you to arrange a meet-and-greet. All family members living in the household should meet the cat before an adoption is finalized.

  4. 04

    We Find the Best Match

We may receive multiple applications for the same cat. Our team selects the home we believe is the best fit based on the individual cat's personality, needs, and living situation.

Applications are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

  5. 05

    Finalize the Adoption

If it's a match, we'll complete the adoption agreement, collect the adoption fee, and provide the cat's available medical records and care information.

  6. 06

    Welcome Home

Take your new family member home and give them time to settle in. We're here as a resource if you have questions during the transition.

Before You Apply

Our cats are adopted as indoor companions and require ongoing veterinary care and a lifelong commitment. Persian and Exotic Shorthair cats can also have additional grooming and care needs, so we want adopters to be prepared for those needs.

Adoption fees currently range from $500–$800, depending on the individual cat. Adoption fees help offset a portion of the veterinary care, preparation, and transportation involved in bringing our rescued cats to the U.S. They also help us continue supporting cats still waiting for rescue and care.

Before adoption, our cats are spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and tested for FIV and FeLV. Any known medical conditions or ongoing care needs will be disclosed to potential adopters.

If you're ever unable to continue caring for a 7Paws cat, please contact us. We want every cat we place to always have a safe place to turn.

Ready to Apply?

If you've found a cat who may be a good fit for your family, we'd love to learn more about you.

Submitting an application does not guarantee adoption. If we think your home could be a good fit, we'll contact you about next steps.
